Psychological Therapy

Individual Therapy.

Therapy is tailored to you rather than based on a single therapeutic model. I draw from
a range of well-established psychological approaches, including Compassion Focused
Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour
Therapy (CBT), schema-informed therapy, trauma-focused therapies, and Dialectical
Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches.

We begin by developing a shared understanding of what is happening for you, what
may have contributed to your difficulties, and what might be keeping them going. This
understanding, together with your goals and preferences, guides the direction of
therapy. As our work progresses, we regularly review how things are going and adapt
the focus where needed.

I work primarily with adults and can also see older adolescents aged 16–17 where
appropriate. People come to therapy for many different reasons, including:
· Anxiety and panic
· Depression and low mood
· Trauma and adverse life experiences
· Stress and burnout
· Self-esteem and self-criticism
· Relationship difficulties
· Difficulties understanding or managing emotions
· Grief and loss
· Identity and self-understanding
· Life transitions
· Challenges associated with navigating life as a neurodivergent person
· Psychosis and unusual experiences
· Longstanding or recurring emotional and relationship patterns

I can also meet with family members who would like help understanding a loved one’s
mental health difficulties and thinking about how best to support them.
